Matsyasana
Matsyasana. Fish-Pose. Yogi. Greek athlete, sweaty muscle yoga on wet marble
Lying on the back, the chest lifts as the crown of the head rests lightly on the earth, the legs extended or in lotus. Keep the weight mostly on the elbows and the throat soft. Breathe gently into the open front body.
Muscles: erector spinae, trapezius, sternocleidomastoid, pectoralis major.
Fish Pose expands the chest and throat, serving as a quiet counterpose to forward bends and inversions.
